FLAIR Strips support the soft tissues over the nasal passages to reduce soft tissue collapse that occurs in all horses during exercise, making it easier to breathe in oxygen.
Reduces exercise-induced pulmonary hemorrhage (EIPH or lung bleeding) by reducing stress on fragile blood vessels in the lungs resulting in less ruptured blood vessels.
Supporting the nasal passages allows more efficient respiratory cooling so horses recover quicker post exercise.
By reducing the work of breathing, energy is conserved and oxygenated blood can be directed to locomotory muscles rather than respiratory muscles.
By reducing resistance to airflow horses don’t tire as easily so they can work longer and harder.
FLAIR® Strips are drug-free and permitted in most major disciplines and associations. Always check your specific organizations rules before competing.
How to Apply
Clean and dry nose, brush hair on nose upward.
Bend side edges of Strip down along score marks.
Peel center piece of liner, fold back at score marks, hold Strip along folded liner and remove side pieces of liner.
Position Strip two finger widths above nostrils, pressing Strip down in the center, remove center piece of liner, secure adhesive by firmly pressing Strip down.
For best results, apply FLAIR Strips at least 30 minutes prior to exercise, riding or any other activity that may cause the horse to sweat.
Store FLAIR Strips at room temperature. Strips that are exposed to extreme heat or cold may not adhere properly.
How to RemoveAllow horse to cool down and fully recover before removing. Remove FLAIR Strips by peeling gently, but firmly from the top corner toward the middle.
Adhesive may cause slight loss of hair, as experienced with normal shedding.
